FAQs

  • We’re a mental health and masculinity organisation that runs interactive workshops with students across WA with a focus on healthy relationships, sexual consent, and breaking down the stigmas around mental health.

  • Currently, we lose 7 men to suicide in Australia each day, meanwhile, 1 in 3 women have experienced some form of sexual violence in the past. Man Up began in 2019 with the aim to change these statistics and create a healthier next generation of young West Australians.

  • The Man Up community is open to EVERYONE. Have a chat with one of our team members or scan the QR code to find out more.

  • Currently, all our high school workshops are conducted by male-identifying volunteers who facilitate the small group (8-10 students) workshops at the schools we visit. What makes Man Up special is the peer to peer style, which relies on volunteers bringing their own experiences to each session, so no qualifications are needed.

  • We’re currently working on junior school content which will be open to all volunteers, however, for our senior school sessions, our volunteers are male identifying. Fresher rep positions are open to everyone to join the committee. Please speak to one of our team members for more info.

  • We keep it very flexible. On average we conduct two 1 hour sessions per week at different schools. Volunteers have the choice of signing up for any session they want to align with work/uni commitments, and there’s no pressure to meet a minimum time commitment.

  • Absolutely we do. We run a wide range of events from upskillings, to our annual Quiz Night, to beach catch ups with the volunteers – all of which are open to everyone to attend.
